Rhetorical Reasoning in al-Sakkākī’s Miftāḥ al-ʿUlūm: A Pragmatic Approach to Discourse
Abstract
Inference (Al-Istidlal) constitutes a major issue that Arab scholars have diligently addressed across many of their works. They frequently approached it, both explicitly and implicitly, while tackling various linguistic and jurisprudential issues within the Arabic linguistic sciences and the fundamentals of Islamic jurisprudence (Usul al-Fiqh).
