This research aims to highlight the distinctive nature of the “critical evidence” (al-shāhid al-naqdī) in the theory of Hazem al-Qartajanni, one of the prominent figures of Maghrebi-Andalusian literary criticism, and to shed light on his contribution to establishing a uniquely North African conception of poetic craftsmanship
